Why InspectPro Exists
InspectPro started the way a lot of good tools do — helping a friend. A mate who works as a building inspector was spending his evenings hunched over a laptop, transferring photos and typing up reports in Word. The inspection itself took an hour. The report took two more.
What began as a favour — “let me build you something better” — quickly evolved into a full product. The more inspectors we talked to, the more we heard the same story: too much time at a desk, not enough time on-site doing actual work.
InspectPro was built to fix that. Capture photos, annotate defects, add comments referencing NZS 4306 or AS 4349, and deliver a professional PDF — all before you leave the property. No desktop. No templates. No formatting headaches.
The Founder
Alex Patlingrao is the founder of InspectPro and a former big tech engineer with 20 years of experience in the mobile hardware development industry.
After seeing a friend struggle with the nightly report-writing grind, Alex applied two decades of engineering experience to a deceptively simple problem: get the report done before the inspector leaves the property. InspectPro is the result — built with direct input from working building inspectors across New Zealand and Australia, and designed around the standards and workflows they use every day.
